The first freight train was sent from Hebei province as part of the China – Europe and China – Central Asia rail freight service during the prevention of coronavirus infection.
The train with cargo weighing about 660 tons went from the city of Shijiazhuang (Hebei province, Northern China) to the Uzbek capital Tashkent. This indicates that freight trains from this city to Europe and Central Asia have been fully restored to normal.
This is the first freight train that was sent from Hebei province as part of the China – Europe and China – Central Asia rail freight service during the period of prevention and control of coronavirus infection. A total of 42 containers with cargo worth about 30 million yuan will be transported to Central Asia.
These exports include automobile components, mechanical equipment, steel pipe products, construction materials, and consumer goods that were produced in cities in Hebei province such as Shijiazhuang, Handan, Cangzhou, Xingtai, and Baoding.
The resumption of freight trains in normal mode provided strong support for the restoration of production and operation of local foreign trade enterprises.
It is reported that from March 2020, Hebei province will increase the number of train flights in the framework of China – Europe and China – Central Asia rail freight.
